Arturo Galvan peacefully passed July 25, 2023 in Harlingen, Texas at sixty-seven years of age. He attended Texas Southmost College and was a valued employee of the U.S. Postal Service where he was employed as a Maintenance Technician. Arturo retired from USPS after thirty-two years of dedicated service.
He was of the Catholic faith and an active member of the Knights of Columbus-San Benito. Arturo was also an active member of the Elks Lodge of San Benito and served as a Boy Scout leader. In his leisure time, he loved tinkering with his tools and was an avid fisherman.
Arturo was born October 13, 1955 in Spur, Texas to Guadalupe L. and Paula G. Galvan. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ricardo Galvan; son-in-law, Pedro Rivera; and brother-in-law, Baldemar Torres.
Left to treasure Arturo’s memory is his loving wife, Theresa Ann Galvan, children, Marcus Anthony Galvan and Alyse Galvan; and step-grandchildren, Troy Logan Rivera and Saide Nicole Rivera; his siblings, Aurelio (Blanca) Galvan, Maria Elena Galvan, Robert (Mary) Galvan, Josefina G. Torres, Ramon (Leticia) Galvan, Rosa (Guillermo) Salazar, Zoila (Robert) Mendoza, Gracie Galvan, and Gloria Galvan; and several nieces and nephews.

The Galvan family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin Sunday evening at 7 o’clock. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 31, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito. Following the Mass, Arturo will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Marcus Anthony Galvan, Ramiro Ramos, Isaac Martinez, David Rey Sosa, Benny Gomez, Noah Ramirez. Aurelio Galvan, Ramon Galvan, Robert Galvan, Esequiel Cortez Jr., Balde Ramirez, and Troy Logan Rivera will serve as honorary pallbearers.
