Dateline: Harlingen: Armenia H. Plum, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at her residence in Harlingen.
Armenia was born January 15, 1906 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin to Harry and Emily Mooradian. She graduated from Fort Atkinson Wisconsin High School in 1922. Then she attended Milwaukee Downer College from 1923 to 1925 and she graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1926. On June 14, 1929, she married Floyd Plum in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and in 1931 they moved to Austin, Texas where her husband and father were in the Oriental Rug Business. Then she moved to Lyford, Texas in 1933 and began farming in the Lyford area until 1970 when they sold the farm and moved to Harlingen. On June 30, 1988, Floyd passed away.
Armenia is survived by her daughter, Mary Joe Mason; son-in-law, Tom Mason; two grandchildren, Holley Leatherman and her husband, Carl of Harlingen and Tom Mason, II of Dallas, Texas; and two great grandchildren, Kelsey Omick and Kendall Omick both of Harlingen. She is also survived by her extended family of caregivers, Dina Cruz, Eva Donez, Ana Quintanilla and Carmen Ruiz.
Graveside services will be held for family only at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas.
