Harlingen, Texas:
Arlie B. Thomas, 83, passed away quietly Sunday evening August 3rd, 2008 at Harlingen Medical Center after lengthy complications. Arlie was born February 10, 1925 in Crumb Creek, OK to Leonard and Marguerite Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Dora “Ethel” Thomas.  They lived their 59 loving years together in Harlingen.  Daddy was also preceded by his mom, dad, a brother Louis; and his sister, Joeline.
Arlie worked for L.T. Boswell Ford in San Benito for 45 years and was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene until the health of his wife and then himself prevented his attendance
Arlie is survived by his daughter Cathy Peters of Dallas; grandsons, Stephen Beuchaw (Meredith) of New York, NY and Jason Beuchaw (Amanda) of Joplin, MO; and a great grandson, Cayden Beuchaw also of Joplin, MO.  Also surviving Arlie is his sister Mavis Magouirk (Alfred) also of Harlingen.  Arlie left behind a large extended family of numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his faith in God, his warm giving spirit, and his love for children.  He left behind poetry to those he loved… to remember him by.
To all of his numerous friends and dearest family members…He loved you dearly.  As he said to one of his nieces a couple of days before he passed when she kissed his cheek and told him she loved him “I wish we could stay here forever”!  This was because of the depth of love he had for his family.
Visitation will be held Wednesday August 6, 2008 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.
Graveside services will be Thursday, afternoon at 4 p.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, TX.
Pallbearers-Jason Beuchaw, Steve Kelley, Mark Magouirk, Lee Smith, David Osborne, and Bob Seal.  Honorary Pallbearers - Alfred Magouirk, Noble Snaples, Jim Strickland, Dewey Strickland, and Carl Strickland.
