Anthony H. Meyn, Jr., 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Harlingen Medical Center.
Anthony was born September 1, 1921 in New Orleans, LA to Anthony H. and Ione M. Meyn. He proudly served his country during WWII with U.S. Coast Guard stationed at South Padre Island and then served in the Pacific. Anthony was the owner/operator of Laguna Vista Construction Company and was active in the Lutheran church, recently belonging to St. John Lutheran Church in San Benito. He was past president of the Port Isabel Rotary Club with over 60 years of perfect attendance and received many awards. Anthony enjoyed collecting coins, spending time with his family and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother David Meyn and step-son Kevin Bradshaw.
Anthony is survived by his wife Mary Anne Meyn; son, Mike (Beverly) Meyn of Los Fresnos, TX; daughters, Pamela (John) Thompson of Georgetown, TX; Toni Lee Cheshire of New York; step-children, Tom (Laurie) Bradshaw of Brownsville, TX, Wendy Phillips of Las Vegas, NV and Susan Andrews of San Jose, CA; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010, 2 p.m., at St. John Lutheran Church in San Benito with Pastor Marcus Mueller officiating.
The family requests, memorial contributions be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 1000 N. Crockett, San Benito, Texas 78550.
