Annie Elizabeth Newell Earley

Annie peacefully went to her heavenly home surrounded by love on Sunday, January 6, 2008 in Flower Mound, Texas. She was born October 7, 1910 in Pasadena, Texas to Martha Jane and Francis David Newell, the tenth of eleven children.
In 1922, Annie moved with her family to Rio Hondo, Texas, married John Douglas Earley in 1935 residing in Rio Hondo until 1993, when she moved to Highland Village, Texas to live with Linda and Bill Turnbull. Annie was a member of the Lewisville Church of Christ.
Annie was an early settler of the Rio Grande Valley and graduated in 1929 from Rio Hondo High School. She trained as a telephone operator and worked many years for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She had a special place in her heart for children
and the elderly, understanding their needs and enjoying their gifts.
Preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John Douglas Earley, she will be lovingly missed by her children, Calvin Earley, Linda Turnbull, Lila Hamann, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grand children and extended family and friends. Annie faithfully served her Lord with the many compassions and gifts she shared. She lived her life with dignity, courage, grace, patience and faith, never losing her quick wit and humor.
Annie touched so many lives with her awareness of others and willingness to serve her Lord through her kindness, gentleness, encouragement and gratitude. She never met a stranger and was living in the affirmation of His undying love.
The family invites you to join in the celebration of Annie’s life and will receive visitors from 6:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M., Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. On-line condolences may be sent at www.mulkeymason.com. Additionally, a visitation will be held from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., Friday evening at the Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in Harlingen. Graveside services will be held at 10:00a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2008 in the Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
