Harlingen, TX:
Anna Mae (Granny) Tramp departed this world and into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 18, 2011 surrounded by her family.
Anna Mae lived a life of love. She had strong principals and left her legacy of commitment and endurance. She touched and enriched the lives of many people with her positive outlook on life. She is remembered for her saying” Stay in there with it, don’t let it get you down”. Granny was the type of person that always put others needs ahead of her own. It was always important to her that those around her be happy and comfortable before she gave her own comfort any thought.
Staying connected with family was important. She took pride in her home and yard and loved the company of family and friends.
Anna Mae was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed making lovely gifts to share with relatives and friends. She especially found pleasure in making over 500 hundred pillows for patients at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She was also a great cook, loved making cookies and was known for her delicious banana bread. She contributed many dozens of cookies and breads to the Annual Relay for Life. Granny always seemed to find time to lend a hand and to reach out to someone who really needed it. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was always doing for everyone else.
She gave us her love and you can only guess how much happiness.
Anna Mae worked at the Sechrist-Hall Company in Harlingen for over 55 years as the office manager and retired from there when she turned 81.
She was predeceased by her husband Edmund C. Tramp in 1972. Survived by daughter Linda (William) Verbout of La Feria, granddaughter Darlene (Adrian) Gonzalez of San Antonio, sister Mae (George) Vrazel of Austin, brother Roy (Pam) Harbers of West Point, Texas along with numerous nieces and nephews.
