Anita Gonzalez

Anita Gonzalez 69 passed away Tuesday morning, November 19, 2019.  Anita was born in San Benito on June 12, 1950 to Francisco Rodriguez & Manuela Ybarra Rodriguez.

Anita was a member of Cross Church where she served as a caretaker. She enjoyed sewing, arts & craft, baking, and gardening. Lovingly, Anita was awarded with the following honors: Best Mother Award, Best Grandmother Award, Best Wife Award, and the Best Cook in the World Award!

She was preceded in death by her parents Francisco & Manuela Rodriguez, her brothers Daniel & Billy Rodriguez, her sister Noemi Piña, niece Lisa Rodriguez, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Rodriguez.

Left to cherish her memory will be her husband of 46 years Ruben Gonzalez, Sr., children: Ruben (Maritza) Gonzalez, Eli (Sarah) Gonzalez), Misael (Connie) Gonzalez, Rene (Liliana) Gonzalez, Veronica (Jeff) Dias, Laura Gonzalez, Esmeralda (Glenn) Atkinson. Her grandchildren: Joshua, Tommy, Thor, Damon, Joaquin Jr., Jeremiah, Shon, Zoe, Dāshon, Isabel, Amelia, Precious, Christian, Ashton, Austin, Alejandro, Gianni, Jeffrey Jr., Sofia, Zachary, Anna, Alyssa, Alec, Cheynne, Celina, and Beau.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 21st from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Chapel Service will be at 9:00 a.m. Friday, November 22nd at San Benito Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honor to serve as pallbearers will be Tommy, Joshua, Thor, Damon, Rene, Eli, Misael and Ruben.  Honorary pallbearers will be Alejandro, Christian, Austin, Ashton, Jeffrey Jr., and Gianni.

Thanks to the staff at Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen Medical Staff, Gracia Hospice, Kindred Hospice, and a special thanks to Cross Church Pastors & members for their continued prayers and support.
