Anita (Zapata) Amaya

Anita Amaya was born on March 21, 1925 and went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 26, 2019.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jose Cruz Amaya, Sr., sons Jose Cruz Amaya, Jr. and Edelmiro Amaya, daughter Annie Amaya Rivera, and grandson Jose Cruz Amaya, III.

She is loved and remembered by her surviving children, sons: Edmundo (Janie) Amaya, Benjamin (Belinda) Amaya, Raul Amaya, Juan (Alicia) Amaya; daughters, Julia Amaya, Josie (Raul) Amaya, and Sandra (Rudy) Amaya Morado.

She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, grandsons: Edward, Eddie, Ben Jr., Javier, Rudy, Ray, J.J., Mando, Freddy, Charlie, Raul, Manuel, John, Joe, Daniel, Danny; granddaughters, Yolanda, Julie, Di Di, Irene, Rosie, Jackie, Cathy, Julie Adrianne, Ashley, Perla, Ronnie, Jessica, Annie, Janet, Roxana, Lucia, Amanda, and Kristen; 55 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.

Anita’s family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM at San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock on Tuesday evening.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Fr. Luis Tinajero, Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honor to serve as pallbearers will be Javier Solis, Rudy Solis, Ben Amaya Jr, J.J. Rivera, John Amaya Jr, Eddie Amaya Jr. Ray Amaya, and Charlie Amaya. Honorary Pallbearers: Edmundo Amaya, Benjamin Amaya, Raul Amaya and Juan Amaya.
