Angie B. Carden

Rio Hondo/Arlington, TX:
Angie Blye Herrington Carden went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 29 at 7:10 P.M. in Arlington, TX, after a long battle with congestive heart failure (CHF).
Angie was born in Pawnee, Texas on October 27, 1913, to Hilda Ethel Elliott and Alex Boyd Herrington.  The family moved for a short time to Rose Prairie, OK, and then to the Rio Grande Valley March 19, 1919.  She was a 1932 graduate of Rio Hondo High School.
In July, 1934, she was married to Curtis Lee Carden. Before the children were born, Angie worked beside her husband on their farm.  She was an active member of the church of Christ for 85 years from the young age of twelve. She was a Bible class teacher and involved in many church activities during those years.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 40 years, her brother Boyd, daughter Janice, her sister Alma McEowen (Robert,dec.)
Angie is survived by two daughters, Norma Reynolds(Ed)of Arlington, TX and Wanda Barton(John)of Bryan, TX and one son, James Carden(Maria)of Abilene, TX, three grandsons and two granddaughters, one step-grandson, and one step- granddaughter and eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Ethel Marshall(Al, dec.)of Kingsville, TX and Margie Hamilton (Gil) of Scottsdale, AZ and one brother, Earl  Herrington (Ruth)of Kerrville, TX and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011, 2 p.m., at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria with Whit Herrington officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice & Palliative Care, 3221 Collinsworth St., Ste. 160, Fort Worth, TX 76107 or to Sunny Glenn Children's Home, P.O. Box 1373, San Benito, TX 78586.
Special thanks to nurses, Cynthia, Melody, Frances and her devoted aide, Synthia for lovingly and faithfully caring for her.
