Angelita Rivera Saldivar passed peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
She was born in Galveston, Texas on February 6, 1941, to Delfina (Gomez) Rivera and Juan Rivera Sr. She married the love of her life, Evaristo Saldivar, on July 27, 1959. They worked and raised their family in Texas and in Aurora, Illinois, until they retired and moved to San Benito where they lived surrounded by family and friends since 1998.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Virginia (Rivera) Garcia, her brother Federico Rivera and an infant son in childbirth. She is survived by her loving husband Evaristo and three children. Her daughter Norma Saldivar, and sons Evaristo Saldivar, Jr. and George (Jennifer) Saldivar; eight grandchildren, Michelle Lynn Cantu, Celia Angela Cantu, Magdalen Hope Cantu, Jordan McDowell, Benjamin (Madison) Saldivar, Alexia Saldivar, Margaret Evers, and Katherine Evers; two sisters, Elfida (Robert) Dominguez, Georgia (John) Sullivan and four brothers, Delfino (Dolores) Rivera, Miguel (Sylvia) Rivera, Juan (Maria) Rivera, Mario Rivera, along with numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and a bountiful extended family.
Angie was a mother, grandmother, and aunt to everyone that she met and never knew a stranger. She showered love, care and food on everyone that crossed her path. Her smile and laughter were infectious, she had an amazing sense of humor, and her heart was just too big for this world.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the office of Texas Oncology, Dr. Sarhill and his staff for their compassion during her decade-plus cancer treatments. In addition, we would like to extend thanks to the MICU staff at Valley Baptist for their care and comfort during her final days.
All services will be private. At this time, the family is asking for privacy and no visitors.
