Angelita S. Rodriguez

Angelita “Angie” S. Rodriguez, 82, passed away peacefully April 25, 2023.  She was born to Alejandro D. and Angelita M. Salazar on August 6, 1940 in San Benito, Texas.

Angelita was a devoted, loving, and caring woman who embodied strength, perseverance, and independence in all that she did. She was ahead of her time in her ideals of what a woman should and could do.

Through her strength for life, love was always her foundation.

Love for her mother, husband, siblings, children, in-laws, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Love for embracing life and always being present for everyone.

Angie did it her way! What a glorious life she was blessed with!

Left to treasure Angelita’s memory are her husband, Angel Rodriguez, Jr.

Children: Mario Alfredo (Carmelita) Rodriguez of Port Isabel, Texas, Miguel Angel (Roland Zambrano) of San Benito, Texas, Cecilia Alicia (James) Gancedo of Dallas, Texas, Rolando (Virginia) Rodriguez of Brownsville, Texas, and Becky Ann Lee (George†) of Magnolia, Texas

Brother: Raul Salazar of Kerrville, Texas

Grandchildren: Lisa Marie (Pete) Lopez, Peter (Heath Cleveland) Perez, Aron Rodriguez, Jacob Mata, Anthony (Maricela) Mata, Daniela Rodriguez, Cristian Rodriguez and Sophia Rodriguez

Great grandchildren: Lukas Peter Lopez and Averie Presley Lopez

Grand pups: Stitch, Minnie, Chiquita, Wilma, Betty, and Simba Lou.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Angelita Salazar; her sisters, Gloria Plata and Mary Alice Gonzalez; brothers, Oscar Salazar, Alejandro Salazar, Crescencio Salazar, and Eddie Salazar; and her son-in-law, George Lee.

The Rodriguez family will receive family and friends Monday, May 1, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  A prayer service will begin at 7 o’clock on Monday evening.  A funeral liturgy will take place Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, Angelita will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
