On February 1, 2020, our Beautiful Mother, grandmother, and sister Angelita Martinez Lozano, surrounded by her loving children and caretaker Minnie went on to meet (As she would always say) her Lord Jesus and received her crown of Glory.
Mom, was a Beautiful woman, very loving, intelligent, patient, witty, had integrity, ready with a smile or hug, and feisty when she had to be. She treated all she met with respect and would not hesitate to help you out when needed. She knew how to forgive others and how to ask for forgiveness. She loved her Lord Jesus and enjoyed hours of praying and being in His presence.
We, her children never doubted her unconditional love for us. It was her love, which carried us through the years of life’s joys and pains. When she realized that, she had signs of dementia she would tell us, “if I ever get to the point that I don’t know who you are and what I am doing, find me a place and go on with your lives”. What a powerful mother she was. As we struggled to fulfill a mother’s love to release her children from that burden, God loved her so that He opened the door to “Angels at Home”, where she reaped what she has sowed in life.
Minnie Duarte-Castillo became her caretaker, friend, sister, and another daughter. Minnie and her family took mom and us, her family into their home and hearts. Minnie remembered as a child how mom would help her mother during her tough times being a single mother. She was surprised to know that it was our mother that needed to be cared for, and was thrilled and willing to care for mom. Amazing how God’s plan worked out that Minnie came alongside us, her children would take care of our mom until her last breath on earth. We will be forever grateful to Minnie for her amazing ability to care and love our mom beyond any written words.
It is because of our faith that we refuse to allow dementia to overtake the love and joy from us. Mom expressed her love of music, dancing, and bright colors. We ask that you join us in Celebrating our precious Mother’s memory by wearing lots of colors and comfortable jeans if you choose to. All smiles, hugs, and touching memories will be appreciated. We encourage whoever wishes to write a “Love Letter” to Mom to do so to be placed with her.
