Andrew Cantu, Jr., 69, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2010 at his residence.
Andrew was born January 13, 1941 in Harlingen, Texas to Andres Cantu, Sr. and Juanita Cantu Lambert. Andrew proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam Conflict where he received the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was an associate with Andy’s Locksmith from 1979 to 2008 working as a locksmith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and safe work and was a member of the American Legion Post 205 of Harlingen.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Robles Cantu and his brother, Rosendo Roberto Cantu.
Andrew is survived by his mother, Juanita C. Lambert; children, Andrew John Cantu and Leonard M. Cantu; siblings, Joe V. Cantu, Delilah L. Hochstetler and Kenneth J. Lambert.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria with Pastor Jim Edge officiating and military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 205.
The family would like to thank Dr. Todd Shenkenberg and staff and Dr. Lock and staff for all their care given to Andrew.
