Emblem

Andres L. Robles, 87, passed away on April 2, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas.

Andres was born to Ignacio and Angela Leal Robles on August 11, 1937, in Rio Hondo, Texas.

He served honorably in the U.S. Army, worked as a truck driver, and was previously employed by General Dynamics.

Andres was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He was a diligent worker and a great provider who always cared for his family. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing the guitar and accordion. He also liked to watch the Dallas Cowboys on TV and worked on his trucks. He was very handy around the house, and there wasn’t anything he couldn't fix.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Graciela Stephens and Maricela Castro; three infant Robles children: two boys and one girl; grandson Francisco Casas III; granddaughter Ruby Hernandez; parents Ignacio and Angela L. Robles; brother Sabas Robles and Ignacio Robles; sisters Esther Guajardo and Elena Robles; and a younger sister, Petra Robles.

Left to cherish Andres’ memory are his loving wife, Dalia Lopez Robles; children: Evelyn Robles, Andrew Ignacio Robles (Andy), Nancy Casas (Francisco, Jr.), Cynthia Schoen (Robert), Martha Robles, Sonia Weaver (Gilbert), and Rene Alatorre (Rosalinda); grandchildren: Jacob Casas, Jasmine Sanchez, Emma Schoen, Jeffrey Schoen, Steven Rogers, Kristen Rogers, Vanessa Weaver, Debra Weaver, Miguel Soto Jr., Maricela Gonzalez, John Andrew Flores, John Emmanuel Flores, Renee Alatorre, Julie Aguilera, Dalia Martinez, and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Esequiel and Baldemar Robles, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The Robles family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Harlingen Medical Center, as well as the personnel at Veranda Nursing Home. Special thanks go to Elva Muniz from Veranda and Gentiva Hospice for their care of Andres.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Chapel A of the funeral home. Following the service, Andres will be laid to rest with full military honors at San Benito Memorial Park Cemetery.
