Ana María “La Manzanita” Villarreal peacefully passed January 15, 2023 at fifty-five years of age. She was born December 5, 1967 to the late Olivio Lee and Elena Ruiz in San Benito, Texas.
Ana was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Anyone that knew Ana knew of her special way of showing her love through the amazing meals and desserts that she prepared. She was a very selfless person who would often put others’ needs before her own.
She was one of the strongest people you could have ever met. She fought a long battle of illnesses and gave it her all. Until it was God's will for her to enter his Kingdom. She will always be remembered as a happy soul, always smiling, and making jokes just to put a smile on your face. And, let's not forget she was a die-hard Cowboys Fan! La Anaconda. She will be truly missed by many but will live in our hearts forever.
Ana was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Olivio Ruiz; her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and several cousins.
Left to treasure Ana’s memory is her loving husband, Francisco Villarreal; her children, Jennifer Villarreal (Joseph), Cynthia Villarreal (Raul), and Joann Villarreal; her grandchildren, Carissa Rodriguez, Mya Barron, Alazay Gaytan, Trae Barron, Eduardo Rodriguez, Joseph Sanchez, Emmy Rodriguez, Elijah Rodriguez, Analee Rodriguez, Ariel Rodriguez, and Raul Barron, Jr.; and her siblings, Rosalinda Ruiz Guzman (Ceasar), Deana Ruiz, Chrissy Ruiz, and Ida Ruiz (Benito).
Special thanks to Dr. Todd Shenkenberg and his staff for caring for Ana’s wellbeing.
The Villarreal family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin Wednesday evening at 7 o’clock.
