Amanda Ann Morin, aged 38, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, in Harlingen, Texas. She was born on February 10, 1986, in Harlingen, Texas to Gabriel and Diana Pena.
Amanda earned her Bachelor's degree in American Sign Language (ASL) and a Master's degree in Counseling. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and cherished her faith deeply. In her spare time, Amanda enjoyed engaging in various arts and crafts, including soap making and designing shirts and pens. She also took pleasure in practicing American Sign Language. Known for her contagious smile and infectious laughter, Amanda left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
She is survived by her parents, Gabriel and Diana Pena; her husband, Jd Morin; her sister, Annie Arrellano (Jay Veloz); as well as her cherished nieces and nephews: Alyssa Veloz (Jessie Zuniga), Alex Veloz (Dominique Rodriguez), Abraham Veloz, Daniel Gomez, Olive Zuniga, Noah Zuniga, Avery Veloz, and Sam Veloz. She is also survived by her grandparents, Jesus and Cande Arellano.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to all who prayed for Amanda during her illness, and to Valley Baptist Hospital for their compassionate care.
The Morin family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Services for Amanda will conclude after the Mass.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Henry Pena, Jd Morin, Alex Veloz, Abraham Veloz, Sam Veloz, and Daniel Gomez.
