HARLINGEN:
Alta Dodd Reynolds, 88, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at her residence. Alta was born September 4, 1918 in Haleysville, Alabama to Virgil and Rosa Dodd. She was a graduate of La Feria High School and won multiple honors in local garden club and flower shows. Alta enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and playing “Canasta”.
She is survived by her children, Virginia (Leon) May, Linda (Larry) Taylor, Elton (Lori) Reynolds and Mary Frances Reynolds; grandchildren: Le May, Jamie May-Barson, Kyle May, 1st Lt. Laurie (Kevin) Nielson, Loren (Angel) Taylor, Amy Reynolds and Ginny Reynolds; great grandchildren, Brooke Barson, Giavana May, and Jaden May, Hope and Josie Vogel. Alta is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Vera Reynolds, Dorlis Dodd, Mary Reynolds-Neese, Thelma Casanova and Mary Alice Dodd; brother-in-law, Bailey (Marilu) Reynolds; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved caregivers, Maggie Quinones, Ana Ruiz, Guillermina Perez, Maria Diaz and Lupe Garcia.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 18, 2007 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2007, 1 p.m., at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Jake Vincent, officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
Pallbearers will be the Elders of the Eighth and Harrison Church of Christ.
