Alonzo Chapa

Alonzo Chapa was born January 15, 1932 to Marina Falcon and Catarino Chapa.  He passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Harlingen Medical Center.  He is survived by children; Ricardo (Sandra) Chapa, Daniel (Esmeralda) Chapa, Maria Rivera, Elvis (Esperanza) Chapa, Linda Tapia, Rene (Aleida) Chapa, David (Veronica) Chapa; 22 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren.  His wife, Odelia Chapa and his granddaughter, Marisela Chapa, preceded Alonzo in death.  He enjoyed taking rides on his scooter, visiting with friends, and hosting guisados for the neighborhood.

Alonzo’s family will be receiving friends and relatives on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 3:00 to 9:00 PM at San Benito Funeral Home.  There will be a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at San Benito Memorial Park.
