Alfredo P. Trevino

May 13, 1937 — June 28, 2015

SAN BENITO, TX. – Alfredo Pedro Trevino, Jr. peacefully left our arms and into the glorious arms of our Lord and Creator on June 28, 2015. He was surrounded by the only love of his life, his wife of 59 years, Celia Gonzalez Trevino, and his children “The Magnificent Seven”. The seven are Norma Linda (+Jose Luis) Sandoval, Nora Elia (Esteban) Martinez, Nita Deanna (David) Smith, Nedia Lee (Santiago) Espinoza, Alfredo Pedro III (Nora) Trevino, Raul Javier (Elizabeth) Trevino, and Gabriel Eliseo (Veronica) Trevino.

Grandpa’s words of wisdom, witty jokes, and the fancy dance moves of “The Chicken” will be missed and treasured by twenty of his living grandchildren. His legacy is firmly rooted in their hearts. Stephanie, Jose Luis, Esteban II, Rebecca, Eloy, Robert, Joseph, Desiree, Matthew, Michael, Joshua, Amanda, Elizabeth, Christina, Jennifer, Alfredo IV, Sarah, Isaac, Gabriel II, Victoria, and Clarissa must now continue the traditions of family obligations first and always putting others needs before their own as exemplified by their grandpa every day of his life. We trust that the fruits of his labor and sacrifice will be passed on to his twenty-one great-grandchildren. We have peace in the knowledge that he is now with his grandson who preceded him, +Noe Israel, telling jokes and maybe even fishing.

He was born to +Alfredo B. Trevino and +Natalia Esparza on May 13, 1937 in San Benito. He is survived by his sisters Patricia Powers, Irene Cantu, Nellie Trevino, and Mary Jane Magana, along with his brothers Cesar Trevino, Jorge Trevino, Arnoldo Trevino, and Orlando Trevino. He is preceded in death by his brothers +Porfirio Trevino, sister +Sylvia Carter.

Bravery, strength, dedication, and self-sacrifice for him seemed to be his way at a very early age. Working hard and giving everything up for his family was just the way it was for him. He began at the age of fifteen and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at seventeen and served faithfully for six years. On August 7, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart while on active duty and going to school at night. For the next forty-three years, he worked in supervisory positions in various corporations including ICES, Reliable Foundry, Marathon LeTourneau, Norton, and Kelly Division, until he retired as the plant superintendent of the VALCO Seed Division in Weslaco, Texas.

Dad loved his God, family, and his country, and has now entered into the peace and presence of the Lord. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day.”

Visiting hours are on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, beginning at five o’clock in the afternoon and concluding at nine o’clock at night, with a prayer service to begin at seven o’clock in the evening within the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel.

A chapel service will commence on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at ten o’clock in the morning. Interment will then follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
