Alfredo Tamez

Alfredo Tamez, 56, passed away at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas on September 15, 2017.  He was born in San Benito, Texas on April 15, 1961 to Ernesto G. and Alberta Carrizales Tamez.  He was a proud graduate of San Benito High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having attained the rank of Corporal.  Alfredo was an Engineer Equipment Mechanic at Casas Fleet Service in Corpus Christi at the time of his death. He enjoyed football, fishing, NASCAR, and drinking.

He is survived by his parents, his sisters and brothers Blanche Estelle Tamez, Mary Elma Gutierrez, Ernesto Tamez, Jr., Jenaro Tamez, Rosalva Tamez, San Juanita Tamez, Reynaldo Tamez, Sandra Alicia Tamez, Norma Imelda Tamez, and Guadalupe Tamez.  Also left to treasure his memory are his children Tabitha Ann Pena, Victoria Louisa De La Rosa, and Alfredo Tamez, Jr., his grandchildren Nina Angelyne De La Rosa, Logan Lucius Pena, Nathan Anthony De La Rosa, Haylie Saleen Tamez, Niko Arturo De La Rosa, Neil Augustine De La Rosa, Azrael Arnell Tamez.  Alfredo was preceded in death by Carmelita Tamez.

Alfredo’s family will be receiving family and friends from 3:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 121 Garrison Street, San Benito, Texas.  Interment with military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, TX.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Alfredo Tamez, Jr., Logan Lucius Pena, Nathan Anthony De La Rosa, Reynaldo Tamez, Jr., Ernesto Manuel Tamez, Orlando Cruz, Reynaldo Tamez, Sr., and Jenaro Tamez.
