Alfredo R. Montalvo, Jr. 92 passed away on February 14, 2019 in Meadows Place, Texas. He was born in San Benito, Texas on June 21, 1926 to Alfredo E. Montalvo & Lucia Martinez Montalvo.
Mr. Montalvo was a WWII United States Army Veteran and owner of Montalvo’s Lumber Company in San Benito. He was a member of the Plumbers Union and Pipefitters Union. Mr. Montalvo had a love for cooking, dancing, fishing and watching football. He was of the Catholic Faith
Alfredo was preceded in death by his parents Alfredo E. & Lucia Montalvo and grandson, Ryan Anthony Montalvo.
Left to cherish his memory will be his wife Idalia Montalvo; children: Teresa (Gary) Armer of Baytown, Texas, Edward Montalvo of Taylor, Texas and David Montalvo of Stafford, Texas; granddaughter Myrsine (Chad) Howard and great grandchildren Blake Edwards, Alyssa Edwards, Austin Howard of Needville, Texas; Granddaughter Amanda Montalvo (Sammy DeLuna) and great grandchildren Izaiyuh Nava, Aubrey DeLuna, Mariah Trejo of Houston, Texas. Step granddaughter Krystal Gonzalez and her son Nicholas Gonzalez of Houston, Texas along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2019. Mr. Montalvo will receive his Military Honors at the conclusion of Mass.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Salinas of Austin, Texas, Manuel Castillo of San Benito, Texas, Robert Montalvo of San Benito, Texas, Isequel Cortez of San Benito, Texas and Armando Ramirez of Harlingen, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made in Alfredo’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
