Alfred Louis Adams, age 65, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, August 23, 2021. Alfred, known to many as "Freddy," was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Freddy was born on March 6, 1956, to Norma Cabaza Adams and Alfred Adams. Freddy attended San Benito High School and was active in student life. After high school, he furthered his education by attending Austin Community College and received a certification in Medical Records Coding.
In his 65 years, Freddy traveled on family trips to Mexico and Costa Rica. He toured the rainforest and sampled the local cuisine in Central America. A native Texan, Freddy lived all over the state and even for a time in New Mexico. After residing in Central Texas for over 20 years, Freddy retired and returned home to the Rio Grande Valley in 2018.
Freddy had a gentle, easy-going, and patient spirit. He was a man of few words who often expressed his love through acts of service. He was always quick to lend a helping hand. Freddy, who was not one to be enthralled in the musings of family activities, never wanted to miss an outing. He was content to patiently wait for family members to shop while he spent time “people watching”. Freddy was also very reliable with his palette. During holidays and family gatherings, he would graciously serve as the family “taste tester”. Freddy enjoyed the simple things in life. He was happy to have a Yeti full of cold root beer and a meal at his favorite dining spots. The wait staff at a local restaurant knew his order by heart and nick-named his order as the “Fred Special.”
His father, Alfred Adams, precedes Freddy in death. Left to treasure Freddy’s memory is his mother, Norma Cabaza Adams of Round Rock, TX; his siblings, Robert Adams (Mary) of Harlingen, MaryAnne Tyler Finch (William) of Trinity, and Angela Adams of Round Rock. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. We will miss his gentle smile and chuckle.
Freddy’s family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m. (To view a live-stream of the Rosary, go to https://www.fhwebhosting.com/cxi/tributes/Alfred-Louis-Adams)
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Freddy will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Thank you family and friends for all your prayers, love, and support. God bless you always. PSALM 23
