Alberto C. Garcia

San Benito, TX: Alberto “Beto” C. Garcia passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family on Monday, January 17, 2011. Alberto was born on April 28, 1927 in Rio Hondo, Texas to Manuel and Teresa C. Garcia.
He was a lifetime resident of San Benito, Texas; he worked for March & Wilson for 18 years and for Goodyear for 24 years.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Luisa Montez, Juanita Martinez, Maria Escamilla, Anita Corona and Manuela Escamilla; his brothers, Jose Garcia and Jesus Garcia; and his godson, Charlie Covarrubias, Jr.
Alberto is survived by his loving wife of 61 ½ years, Iris M. Garcia; his sisters, Antonia Cavazos and Josefina Lopez; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other family members.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 beginning at 2:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Iglesia Presbiteriana Getsemani located at 140 Diaz St in San Benito.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Iglesia Presbiteriana Getsemani in San Benito. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Rolando Cavazos, Rudy Corona, Abel Corona, Oscar Lopez, Jason E. Gully, Ian R. Gully, Jeffrey S. Mott, and Travis R. Taylor.
