Adela C. Soto, 94, went to meet our Lord on October 30, 2013.
Adela was born on May 3, 1919 in Sebastian, TX to Senovio and Carlota Castillo. She was a lifelong resident of Harlingen and then moved to McAllen, TX. Adela will be remembered as a faithful wife, mother, and a loving grandmother.
Adela was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jose Soto; brother, Ernesto Castillo; sisters Carmen Lozano, Maria Garcia and Amada Alvarado; and son-in-law, Apolonio Gutierrez.
Adela is survived by her children Lorenza Esther Gutierrez of McAllen, TX, Estela (Lee) Villarreal of Weslaco, TX, Jose (Irene) Soto Jr. of San Antonio, TX, Ernesto (Dora L.) Soto of Edinburg, TX, Manuel (Linda) Soto of Adkins, TX and Gilbert (Kathy) Soto of Austin, TX; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Francisca (Ricardo†) Soto; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in Harlingen.
The funeral procession will depart Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 for a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Harlingen. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be Lisandro Villarreal III, Jose Enrique Soto, Patrick Soto, Dominic Pena, Bernardo Gutierrez, and Apolonio Gutierrez.
The family will like to thank IPH Hospice Care, Dr. Dona Cooper, and Dr. Eugenio Galindo for their loving care.
