Adan Lopez

Adan A. Lopez, 65, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 25, 2010 surrounded by his family.
Adan is survived by his mother; Maria Lopez; spouse, Cheri Y. Lopez; son, Erick P. Lopez; daughters, Susan N. Lopez and Selena J. Lopez; brothers, Hilario Lopez, Jr. (Adelina) and Juan Lopez; sisters, Eva Bousano (Angel) and Lydia Garcia (Adan); grandchildren, Tori L. Lopez, Adrian I. Lopez, Brittney M. Zuniga, Kennedy H. Lopez, Colin M. Zuniga, Ashton C. Lopez, Demi N. Lopez, River G. Lopez and Erick M. Lopez.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hilario Lopez, Sr. and brother, Martin Lopez.
Adan was a graduate of Harlingen High School, attended UTPA and U of H and graduated from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service.  He served in the United States Air Force and received numerous service awards.  He also was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Adan enjoyed being with family, loved all sports and especially loved fishing.  He dedicated his life to helping others and was passionate about being a funeral director.  Since 1974 he had worked at numerous funeral homes throughout South Texas.  His main focus was the needs of the families he served which allowed him to develop many lasting relationships.
In the final years of his life he spent most of his time with his grandchildren, particularly with grandson, Adrian who was devoted in caring for him and spending quality time with him.
Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, tonight with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 11:00 AM, Monday, November 29, 2010.  Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park with Full Military Honor’s.
Serving as Pallbearers: Erick Lopez, Adrian Lopez, Richard Galvan, Juan Lopez, Hilario Lopez, Jr., and Jesse Galvan.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Odyssey Hospice for their care and concern and a very special thank you to his caretaker and very dear friend, Ilsa Moreno and her family.
