Adalberto Francisco “Beto” Ramirez, a lifelong resident of San Benito, Texas, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, June 9, 2018. He was born to Vidal Vasquez Ramirez and Angelita Cavazos Olivares on March 13, 1927.
Beto was a World War II veteran having proudly served in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman, Private First Class. He was the owner of Bekins Gulf Moving Systems, Inc. in San Benito and was an active member of the San Benito Rotary Club, a generous 4H and FFA sponsor, and a strong supporter of the San Benito Chamber of Commerce. Beto enjoyed hunting and working hard. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church.
Beto was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Isabel Bialowas and his siblings. He was the last remaining member of his family.
Left to treasure his memory and carry on his legacy are his loving wife of 70 years, Carmen Ramirez; their children, Bruni Ramirez, Catalina “Cathy” (Kurt) Bradley, Perrin (Stephanie) Ramirez; grandchildren, Adam Brialowas, Andrea Parker, Jamie Parker, Marissa Ramirez, Aaron Figueroa; and, dear family friend, Concha G. Juarez.
The Ramirez family will be receiving friends and relatives on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at San Benito Funeral Home. There will be a Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at seven o’clock on Tuesday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Following the Funeral Mass, Beto will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park with Full Military Honors.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Vidal Ramirez, Arnold Ramirez, Carlos “Chale” Ramirez, Ramon de la Garza, Joey Hernandez, and Aaron Figueroa. Serving posthumously as honorary pallbearers, Juan Vidal Ramirez, Arnoldo Ramirez, Alberto “Beto” Trevino, Roberto Tamayo, Hilario Gonzalez, and Francisco “Chicho” Maldonado.
