Paula Naranjo Montemayor, 90, San Benito (La Paloma), Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 23rd, 2014.
Ama was a strong humble and dedicated mother who cared for her 11 children and was a second mother to her grandchildren. She enjoyed sitting outside to take in the warmth of the sun and truly loved being visited by her family.
Paula is preceded in death and there to receive her is her father Cipriano Naranjo, mother Caterina Cavazos Naranjo, Brother Gilberto Naranjo, sister Maria Guadalupe Galvan, husband Gilberto Montemayor Sr., son-in-law Pete Hurley, daughter-in-law Blanca Irma Aguilar Montemayor, and her beloved son Martin Montemayor, Sr.
Paula is survived by her brothers: Jose Angel (Flora) Naranjo, Felipe (Lupe) Naranjo; sisters: Matilde (Miguel †) Valdez, Rosa (Roberto) Gonzalez, Virginia De La Cruz, and Josephina (Ubaldo) Gomez, numerous nieces and nephews.
Ms. Montemayor is also survived by her devoted children who loved and cared for dearly; sons: Gilberto Montemayor, Jr., Rolando (Monica) Montemayor, Isidro Montemayor, Alejos Montemayor, Jesus/Jesse (Claudia) Montemayor, daughters: Maria Elena (Raul) Contreras, Alicia (Earnest “Pete” †) Hurley, Antonia/ Toni Montemayor, Gracie (Ismael) Garza, and Norma (Israel) Martinez, Aurora (Martin †) Montemayor. Along with her 26 Grandchildren and 25 Great-Grand children which will miss her very much and will always cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at San Benito Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, June 26, 2014 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Her grandsons will be honored to serve as her pallbearers and carry her to rest are,
Raul Montemayor, Rolando Montemayor, Jr., Gilbert Montemayor, III., Marty Montemayor, Jr.. Rey Escobedo, Isidro Montemayor Jr., Eddie Hurley, Riley Martinez and Steven Martinez.
