Maria Antonia De Leon

María Antonia “Toni” De León, 83, peacefully passed away May 6, 2023. She was born January 15, 1940 to the late Manuel R. and Guadalupe García De León in San Benito, Texas.

Toni received a bachelor’s degree and was a dedicated employee of the Texas Human and Health Service where she was employed as a social worker until her retirement after many years of dedicated service. She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. In her leisure time, Toni enjoyed reading, gardening and was a Dallas Cowboy fan.

Toni is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Guadalupe De León, and her sister, Dora Ramos.

Left to treasure Toni’s memory is her brother, José Luis (Martha) De León. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to her brother and sister-in-law for the care they gave her.

The De León family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin Wednesday evening at 7 o’clock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Toni will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Chris De León, Mark A. De León, Jacob De León, J.D. De León, Jessie Garza, and Dante Juárez.
