Luciano “Chano” Garcia, 74, peacefully passed from this life on March 2, 2021. He was born to the late Francisco Garcia and Isabel Flores Garcia on January 1, 1947 in Harlingen, Texas.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Luciano was a valued employee of Texas State Technical College for 26 years where he worked as an Inventory Specialist until his retirement.
In his leisure time Luciano enjoyed watching sports on television, especially his favorite NFL team – the Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed listening to classic rock music and loved barbecuing with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Isabel F. Garcia, and his brothers, Juan and Ramon Garcia.
Left to treasure Luciano’s memory is his loving wife of 51 years, Rosalinda Garcia; children, Yvonne (Ralph) Castillo, Brandon (Marissa) Garcia, Melissa (Ernesto) Martinez; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Francisco Garcia; and his beloved dog Lucky.
The Garcia family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. Following the Chapel Service, interment with full military honors will take place at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brandon Garcia, Jacob Garcia, Ernesto Martinez, Isaac Martinez, Christian Garcia, and Danny Montalvo. Honorary pallbearers are Francisco Garcia and Ralph Castillo.
The Garcia family wishes to thank all the caregivers, therapists, and medical staff that took care of Luciano.
