Ernesto E. Esparza, Sr.

Ernesto E. Esparza Sr., 85, of San Benito, Texas, peacefully entered heavenly paradise Friday, September 16, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife, Noemi Rendón Esparza, and his immediate family.

Neto, as he was known, was born August 21, 1937 in El Ranchito, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnulfo and Margarita Esparza, Sr.; his brothers, Alberto Esparza and Arnulfo Esparza; and his sisters, Olivía Esparza and María Esparza Bridges

He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his loving wife of sixty-six years, Noemi Rendón Esparza; his loving children, Ernesto (Berta) Esparza Jr., Grace (Jim) Norris and Norma (Eddie) Woodard; his wonderful grandchildren, Melinda (Robert) Huizar, Ernie (Josie) Esparza III, Andy (Shawnee) Lockett and Matthew Woodard; and his delightful great-grandchildren, Grayson Esparza and Miá Bella Esparza.

Neto loved horses and loved training them to dance. He was our great horse whisperer! Mostly, he lived his best life enjoying his family, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was husband “Hon”, father “Dad/Daddy”, grandfather “Grandpa”, and great-grandfather “Popo”. We will always cherish his memory! We miss you already!

Also left to treasure Neto’s memory are his siblings, Raúl (María) Esparza, Oralia Tolento, Beatriz (Dennis) Irby, Abel (Bea) Esparza, and Samuel (Belinda) Esparza, and many family and friends.

Neto called his family the “Fab 5”; we love and will always keep you in our hearts until we meet again.

Per Neto’s wishes, cremation will follow with a private ceremony to be held at a future date.
