Concepción "Connie" Sanchez

María Concepción “Connie/Conchi” Sanchez, 88, peacefully passed from this life May 24, 2022.  She was born to the late Felipe and Eulalia Coronado on January 16, 1934 in Brownsville, Texas.

Concepción was a longtime, valued employee of the San Benito CISD Child Nutrition Department until her retirement. In her leisure time, she enjoyed visiting and spending time with her brothers and sisters in Brownsville. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church where she served as Team Mom of Altar Boys.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Cira Coronado, Refugia “Cookie” Coronado, Dora Coronado, Lupita Guerra; and brothers, Juan Coronado and Pablo Coronado.

Left to treasure Concepción’s memory are her husband, José G. Sanchez; her children, José Sanchez, Jr. (Robin Fox), Rebecca “Becky” Sanchez, Mike Sanchez, and Ric Sanchez; her grandson, Stuart Sanchez; and her St. Theresa church family.

Special thanks to Dr. Todd D. Shenkenberg, MD for so much comfort that he brought to Concepción during her illness, and to Dr. Stephanie H. Garcia, MD for her compassionate care.

The Sanchez family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin Sunday at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ric Sanchez, Mike Sanchez, David Coronado, Paul Coronado, and Danny Coronado.
